Puerto Angelito Playa Manzanillo - Casa Daikiri Hostel
There are not one but two amazing Puerto Escondido beaches in the same crescent-shaped bay here. One is Puerto Angelito Oaxaca, and the other is Playa Manzanillo. Each end of the bay offers something different depending on what you’re in the mood for. Playa Angelito is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and drink at one of the beachfront spots that remind you of Oaxaca's great restaurants. You can also explore the rocky headland on the northern end, swim in the calm waters, or join a boat tour along the coastline of Puerto Escondido. For those interested in snorkeling in Oaxaca, these beaches provide the ideal setting to explore the vibrant marine life.
Playa Manzanillo, one of the stunning Puerto Escondido beaches, is perfect for snorkeling in Oaxaca or simply enjoying a day reading in the shade of palm trees. Both beaches are fantastic, but be aware that they can become quite busy on weekends with weekend warriors from Oaxaca. The calm waters here are ideal for a refreshing swim, especially if you're staying at Casa Daikiri Hostel nearby.
Directions
Walk for 45 minutes along the scenic Andador Turístico, enjoying the Puerto Escondido beaches. Follow the coastline to Playa Principal and continue along the concrete walkway until you reach the steps to Mirador Un Sueño Posible. Climb to the top for stunning views before descending into Manzanillo via a second set of hidden stairs.
If you prefer, take a taxi for just 10 minutes at around 100 pesos.
Alternatively, you can catch a collectivo from the Oxxo near Casa Daikiri Hostel and embark on a short 15-minute walk to arrive at your destination, which is also a great starting point for snorkeling in Oaxaca.
