Playa Carrizalillo

Playa Carrizalillo is one of the most popular beaches in the region and a must-see when visiting Puerto Escondido. This sheltered cove, located west of the center, is accessed by a stairway of 157 steps. It's popular for swimming, snorkeling, surfing (beginner to intermediate) and bodyboarding. Book a lesson and you'll likely end up here, making a splash 50 meters offshore. When you're ready to relax, a mellow line of palapa (thatch-roofed) beach bars awaits.

Nestled in a secluded cove, this stunning beach boasts lively beach bars, vibrant umbrellas, soft golden sands, and swaying coconut palms along the shoreline. The medium-sized waves make it a great spot for surfers, while the gentle waves near the shore are perfect for swimming. The combination of surf-friendly waves and soft sand makes Playa Carrizalillo an unbeatable destination. Just like Manzanillo, this place gets busy during the weekend.
